To find these moments, it takes self work. It's a constant journey. But when you're already trying to drink less wine, work out when you can, get to bed before midnight, maintain a social life, and hustle after your career goals, where is the time to do self work? I hear you. Life is full on. But this is exactly why you need to invest in your mental health.

While having a heart-to-heart with a friend, she said to me, "You know what you need, Chelle? You need a North Star. Something you can think of that guides you through the day." That stayed with me, and ended up being the catalyst for creating true north. Now, it's 2017, and some of that I still feel. That's why I call it finding your true north, because it's a journey. Your point of true north is always in flux. And it's okay if some days are hard and you don't feel like "you." But it's important to know that you can get to that point again, and again. 

In 2016, I was living a life that looked amazing on the outside. I had a #dreamjob, a steady relationship, and made it to a couple 6am spin classes every month. But something was missing. I felt like I was a bunch of fragments of a person I was supposed to be, all jumbled together in one giant mess. I didn't feel like "me." I was physically ill every five weeks, despite drinking a (very gross) green juice every morning and taking loads of vitamins. I had periodic crying fits about nothing in particular. I couldn't put energy into the people I cared about. I was losing steam, and losing myself.

But it's not as simple as reading a self-help article or doing a 10-minute meditation that one time.
It takes work, my friends.

It's aligning your actions with purpose.

It's finding the joy in the every day.
